History

O Ddrws I Ddrws was established in 2002 following research by Age UK (Help the Aged at the time). This research concluded that a community transport service was needed in Llŷn in order to maintain the independence of the residents of the area. Relatively healthy people lacking accessible travel to services or facilities might otherwise be forced to move away from the area. O Ddrws I Ddrws was incorporated as a company and charity in January 2003.

O Ddrws I Ddrws is a registered charity with an office in Nefyn, Llŷn where it provides an essential community transport service for residents of Llŷn who would otherwise be isolated at home, unable to access services and facilities.

Those who do not have access to a car, or whose health, age or disability prevents them from using regular public transport can use the O Ddrws I Ddrws service to attend medical appointments, get to the shops or the Post Office, participate in leisure and wellness activities and keep in touch with friends and family. O Ddrws I Ddrws extends independence.

The charity now provides a range of mobility and transport related services, we strive to reduce our carbon footprint and aim to soon reach net zero.
